I did this for the senior drama gala at Avon Central. The mattresses are fondant with gumpaste items sticking out, to go along with the story. The parchment is fondant, over which I traced a print of the words to leave an imprint, and then hand painted the letters. The figures matched the 5 seniors in the play, and were made from painting colored chocolate (a la Whimsical Bakehouse). It was fun cake to make, and the kids loved seeing themselves in chocolate!
This was for my daughter's friend who was having a Hawaiian themed birthday, and loves flying pigs. If I had more time I would have iced it smoother or covered it in fondant!
The house and "stump" are cake with BC. The decorations are a combination of fondant (the bark on the house, the door, the mushrooms), royal icing flowers, and the fairy is inverse chocolate painting (from The Whimsical Bake House).
