chocolate and butter cake on the tiers, bottom tier covered in chocolate buttercream and top tier covered in buttercream. Basket interwoven with both icings. The blocks were nearly the death of me but I won. I'm still here. It'll be easier the next time around. Had a minor bump on the cake and fixed it best I could before the party.
My first attempt with fondant. Was a lot easier to work with than I had expected. The cake is a butter cake with buttercream icing covered in fondant. I cut toothpicks to use as mini dowels to secure the antennas and the legs in place. Still need some more practice getting everything smooth and symetrical
this is my first bridal shower cake! It's a butter cake for the bottom and top tier filled with fresh strawberry filling and the middle tier is a royal chocolate cake filled with chocolate cream. The cake is iced in buttercream.
