Soccer Ball Smashed Into Cake
I was told two things: soccer ball needed to be smashed into cake as if it was kicked into it and we hate fondant. So, all buttercream and here's what I ended up with. I am not crazy about it. I like it in a way, but it's kind of blah. I hope the 7 yr old likes it. LOL TFL *** edited to add: I added another row of gray around the border to add more color. The second photo shows this. These are the colors of his team. :)

Carra's Cake
This is a cake for a coworker who is leaving us. Her nickname was princess, but we meant it affectionately. LOL It's chocolate with peanut butter mousse filling. It was a big hit at the office and "Princess" loved it. This is my first attempt at a royal icing tiara. It was fun to make, and, yes, it broke when I pulled the wax paper off of it, but it was only broken at one end and you couldn't tell on the cake.

Cornelli Lace
Tropical Breeze with Sugarshack's icing, vanilla mousse inside. Cornelli lace on entire cake, ruffle border. I was in a hurry doing this and decided at the last minute to try to pipe some roses in the middle straight onto the cake. They are what I'll call fantasy flowers. I should've just left it off. TFL

Blue Flower Birthday
This was for a friend and her mom who share the same birthday. (Imagine that being your birthday present - childbirth! ) She loves the color turquoise and wanted a chocolate cake. She also has two westhighland terriers. Admittedly, my doggies don't look too much like her westies, but she loved it anyway. The cake was chocolate WASC with peanut butter mousse filling, buttercream icing. It is so rich that you can't eat but a tiny bit at a time. TFL

Home And Garden Bridal Shower
This is WASC alternated with Dreamsicle cake and White Chocolate truffle filling between each layer. This cake taught me many lessons. First, go ahead and buy the SPS that I've been wondering if I should buy. I had to slam on brakes and the top layer slid about 2 inches. My heart sank. Second lesson: always carry a repair kit. I don't know what I was thinking!! Didn't have one. Anyway, I was happy with it BEFORE the trip. Also, I think I did a much better job on my buttercream this time since I watched SugarShack's video last night. Thanks, SS! The wedding colors are coral orange and green. It was a themed shower - home and garden. TFL

Curlers Or Caviar
This is chocolate WASC with chocolate buttercream, fondant bears. I had another idea but switched gears at the last minute and this is what I ended up with. Lady Bear has curlers and a towel on while she's reading her valentine card. She's not "all done up" and he loves her anyway. Hence, curlers or caviar... I love you.

Monster Truck
This is a WASC with chocolate buttercream (crusting) by Serious_Cakes. The flecks in the icing are actually chocolate chunks that occurred because I let my melted chocolate sit a little too long before I mixed it in and it had begun to harden again. It seemed okay when I mixed it in. No big deal since the cake needed to look like dirt anyway! I'm sure the birthday boy won't care and he wanted real trucks to play with. TFL
