Turntable
I was asked to create a a cake to honor Gladys Knight. This is what I came up with. A spinning turntable with a Buddha Records 45 (Buddha Records was the first lable the group was signed to). The record actually spun and appeared to be playing three songs by Gladys Knight and the Pips. The base is a wood box I made and mounted wireless speakers to. The spinning aparatus was a 2" Mastero motherboard that was programmed to revolve for two minutes and stop 45 seconds every 3 minutes. The music only plays when its spinning.

Breaking News
A dear friend of mine was relocating from Houston to Washington DC for a new job. This cake was created with edible images of newspaper articles announcing his departure. He has loved Lena Horne all his life...ironically, the announment of his big move made the paper the same day the article of her death was printed. The cakes were different flavors (chocolate, butter, and peanutbutter), covered with buttercream and fondant. The edible images were created on rice paper. Grass is piped fondant and daisies are made from fondant.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries And Chocolate Cigarellos
I made this groom's cake from a blend of swiss chocolate and devil's food, and covered it with chocolate buttercream. The cigarellos were very difficult for me and I had a signifcant amount of waste trying to get it right. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for my next one.
