Peacock inspired wedding cake. All edible with lots of gumpaste flowers and fondant molds. First time doing airbrushing and isomalt jewels.
Based off of a flower teacup. Gumpaste flowers, quilting, dragees, and some cute cutouts.
This was the most special cake I've ever done. Ordered by a 19 year old who was the sickest person I'd ever seen. She almost died right after this party, but thank God for donors. She got her liver and kidney and made it to 20 and looks forward to many more birthdays!
Groom wanted a Star Wars GI Joe Transformers cake. He was 30 years old! I talked him down to just Star Wars. I tried to make it look slightly cooler than a little boy's birthday cake and the edible picture was the only thing that I felt pulled off the Star Wars theme with only a week's notice.
My very first wedding cake...I almost cracked under the pressure. I put too much icing in between layers and that caused some collapse and leaning. Needed better support, but it did make it and bride liked it. For $200 for that and a groom's cake they did get a deal. As it was my first time I had them charge me for ingredients only.
Bride wanted brown and pink so I did a standard 3 tier cake, but learned a lot about how humid weather can cause dark icing to bleed onto light fondant.
I was asked to integrate her two favorite places in the world...Vegas & Hawaii. It was totally over the top with a smoking volcano on top. The figurines of her family members were lame, but that was my first attempt at those.
He liked Tai Kwon Do. Glow-sticking. Metal detecting. OU Sooners. International Relations. And it was his birthday. This was my attempt at incorporating all these things in 1 monstrous cake in 102 degree Texas heat driving up and down 20 hills during cake transport. Sigh. Iced the crud out of it the last minute to cover all the cracking. Topper lit up and spun though...that was cool!
7 flavors. All fav colors and hobbies for 3 people who had B-days near Thanksgiving! Layer 1 USC football porsches real estate. Layer 2 Paris shpping jewelry. Layer 3 beach theme. Layer 4 Thanksgiving table with all the trimmings and autumn leaves. This was a lot of work and a lot of fun trying to incorporate EVERYTHING they liked into one cake. They were WOWED!
Made for my church new members dinner. Unitarian symbols on the sides and lots of buttercream roses. MMF.

I ran out of time, but my favorite so far. Barely got a pic before a mob of hungry kids decimated it! Chai tea yogurt pound cake with raisins and nuts, and flavor was a huge hit.
Did this for a Halloween Bake Sale and contest at work. Didn't have a whole lot of time, but I think it looks pretty gory! Strawberry syrup for blood, and fondant maggots. Red velvet flavor of course.
1st tiered MMF eggless mehndi henna patterns and shaped cake. Learned a lot of lessons for next time, but I think for a first try this turned out great...just not like I planned. Made for a puja held in my husband's honor.
The icing was mixed poorly and kept sticking in the tip, so I think I can do the lace much better next time.
This is my 4th cake attempt ever. Lemon on bottom and strawberry cake on top. Did my very first basket weave with tip #48, and lots of buttercream roses with some leaves. Hurts your hands but I think it turned out well!
Final exam cake for my basic decorating class. Sides are uneven, but nowhere to go but up from here!
