Football Crazy!
Here's a detail from a cake I made for a cake for a pint-sized Liverpool supporter! Had fun researching the kit (not!) but I thought it was a nice touch to get it right and I gave him the same number as his hero - Gerrard! The 'grass' was made out of crushed biscuits mixed with green food colouring and the chocolate buttercream icing really made it look like turf!

Roary The Racing Car
My first attempt at a shaped cake! I made a large base out of madeira sponge and decorated with black and white fondant squares (took aay-ges) and then made Roary out of a 7" madeira - the wheels and lights etc are fondant - and trust mem - he really does look that weird! (he's a character on a kid's tv show in the UK ). The birthday boy was v happy!

A friend asked for a birthday cake for his mother. I made the sofa out of a shaped madeira cake and the woman out of modelling paste. Behind her are a few pieces of plastic 'Happy birthday' confetti and I made the little b'day card for the special message. The tiny glass and huge champagne bottle are party favours. This is only my third cake and I'm having a blast!!

Crocodile Cake
I desperately hunted for a crocodile cake for my son's sixth birthday so bought the zebra, giraffe and hippo with the idea of plonking them on a shop-bought cake. After browsing this site I decided to have a go myself and made the cake including the cheeky crocodile!. The best thing was that the entertainer we booked for the day is interested in my supplying him with reptile-themed cakes! WHODATHUNKITT?!!!
