I made this cake for my son's first birthday party. The theme was Yo Gabba Gabba and the cake was pound cake filled with blackberry jam and covered in fondant. The figures were also made of fondant.
My first attempt at basketweave! Cake is vegan carrot cake with vegan buttercream icing. Decorated with colored-green flaked coconut, marshmallow peeps and peanut M&M's, The only non-vegan part of this cake.
Cake is four 6" layers of vegan vanilla cake filled with vegan "butter"cream and hand carved and decorated. It is completely edible (except for the dragees). Goggles and mouthpiece are Rice Krispie Treat, and the fondant was painted with copper and gold luster dust and vodka.
