Stanley Cup Wedding Cake
Moderately easy to make and transport Cup made of paper mache. Wrapped papers soaked in flour-water paste half way up and around a soft ball which was wrapped in cellophane. Added a few papers each day for 3-4 days. Then gently squeezed ball to remove ball and cellophane from paper structure. Taped the inside of a role of masking tape to the bottom to make cup 'neck.' Gradually added layers of paper/paste to get shape I wanted, drying after each application. Then covered with butter cream and fondant to match cake. Hard-drying royal icing decorations made it possible to pick up and move the cup as needed. Glued cup to top of a cottage cheese container lid to make a secure base to place the cup atop the cake. Bottom eight inches were 10" Styrofoam dummies covered with fondant. Cake layers were 10", 8" and 6". Finished cake lightly sprayed with edible pearl shimmer coloring.

Wedding Cake With Bling
Bride wanted to serve sheet cakes so I baked the bottom cake and removed the center and replaced it with styrofoam. Placed cutout on top and did the same so that the bottom two tiers were styrofoam surrounded by cake on all sides. Top two layers are cake. Styrofoam core helped square up cake. Was lighter to transport. Bride and groom didn't have to worry about which layer to cut from. Caterers could cut two inch slices from all around the bottom two laters without dis-assembling the cake. Orchids are all made from gumpaste. The bling nicely reflected colored dance lights during the reception.

4 Tiered Sqare Wedding Cake
Bride wanted to serve sheet cakes. So I baked one large square cake, cut the center out and filled with dummy styrofoam. Did same with the cut-out piece to make the second layer. So bottom two layers are styrofoam surrounded by cake. Top two tiers are cake. Styrofoam centers helped square up the cake and keep it level. It was lighter to transport. Bride and groom didn't have to worry about which layer to cut from in the ceremony. The caterers could easily cut two inch slices from around each of the bottom tiers without dis-assembling the cake. Worked great.

Monkeys And Dolphins
My grandaughter gave me very detailed instructions for this cake. It had to have Monkeys, One with a crown, dolphins, and baloons. So this is right out of her eight year old mind. She helped place the decorations on the cake. Everything out of gumpaste except some gummi fish that the kids had fun with. Got lots of ideas from others on this web site.
