Simple, white wedding cake. The bride and groom picked out the topper, the rest was a simple design.
This fondant cake features a royal icing tiara on top, painted with a bit of luster paint. I found the pattern here on CC - thank you!! The tassels were extruded from a hand-cranked pasta machine. The cake sold at a school bake sale for $125.
The bride's theme was multi-colored hydrangeas so this four-tiered, four-flavored cake fit right in. It was assembled on a REALLY hot afternoon so I wasn't able to pipe as many leaves onto the tiers as I would have liked.
This is a cake I did in a Colette Peters class. I had fun with the wild colors. I realized at the last minute that I'd forgotten to make my topper so I slapped together some little "hot dog" thing-ys.
This was my first real wedding cake, patterned after a Margaret Braun cake from the book Cake Walk. The reception was held in at night and there was a spotlight shining on the cake making the luster dust sparkle. I got lots of compliments on the cake. Some people couldn't believe it was edible!
The flowers are fresh and the lace is fondant.

I got discouraged when I had some troubles with this cake. I took a break and read a page in a Colette Peters book where she said that she's never had a disaster that she wasn't able to fix!
