Purse
My first purse cake. There are supports on the handles because they hadn't dried before I had to transport it. Apparently the comments were that it looked "Quite Chanel"! It was fine until an older gentleman tried to pick it up by the handles because he wondered why someone left their purse on the dining room table ~sigh~ Oh well it got there in one piece, the customer loved it and then who cares what happens........

Anybody Eaten A Good Book Lately?
I received a request for a "Twilight" cake, so this is my attempt at replicating one of the books. Since it would have taken an insane amount of black colouring (couldn't find any readymade in my area), I painted the fondant black. Chocolate fudge cake with French buttercream filling.

Breast Cancer Fundraiser
This was for a fundraiser for a Walk for the Cure Team. The cake is white chocolate pound cake torted with whipped cream and summer berries (blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry) filling. Marbled fondant and royal icing decoration. I was worried because I only had two days notice and luckily the ribbon didn't collapse!

Bridal Shower Hand Cookies
The rose basket was made entirely of gum paste, including the bowl. The hand cookies are coated in marzipan. I painted the cookies (nail polish and engagement ring) with luster dust, used silver dragees for the 'diamonds' and pink sugar for the cuff. The other cookies on the tray are Amaretti.

Sunflowers
I made this for my niece's wedding. I marbled the fondant and then made gum paste "frames". My sister (an amazing artist) handpainted the flowers. There's a silk sunflower on the top. I had to deliver the cake the day before (a 70 mile round trip) and the restaurant didn't have room in the fridge! The owner put the cake in her office and cranked the air conditioning but it did slide a litle. Thank goodness I transported it separately and put it together at the venue.

1St Birthday Cake Bear And Beach Ball
These are my Grandson's two favourite things, Teddybears and Beach Balls! The Bear is decorated with buttercream using the triple string tip. It saved a lot of time. People at the party though it was a plush toy. The ball is a combination of buttercream and fondant. Our grandson tried to bounce it across the dining room. Talk about a 'smash' cake!
