Tie-Dyed Rainbow Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my sister last year while I was 8 1/2 mo pregnant. First (sad) attempt at a tiered cake. I let my young sons sprinkle the cake for their aunt and they had a blast doing it. Although the outside looks horrendous, I had a blast making the cake itself. I saw this on the internet a couple of times and attempted to try it. The colors were something else. I will probably attempt this again, only I will spend more time making the outside pretty. Unfortunately, due to undecorated picture rules, I can't show how funky the top of the cake was without icing.

Mario Bros Graduation Cake
This was the graduation cake I made for my brother. The Nintendo characters are gumpaste. The piranha plant's pipes are RKT w/ fondant. WASC w/ buttercream and fondant accents. Top layer is Dark Choc. Fudge cake w/ choc. buttercream and fondant castle. Everything is edible. My sister helped make some turtles and leaves for the plants. I wanted to add more, but ran out of time (i.e. clouds, a Boo Ghost, etc...) Forgot to add white dots to mountains. My brother was afraid of the King Bob-omb when he was younger, it seemed fitting for his cake. Had fun doing this one!

Green Birthday Dragon
I made this for another of my sisters birthday. She's crazy about dragons! I saw the dragon on cakewrecks from The Cake Fairy. Mine is not even close to being as wonderful as theirs, but I'm happy with it. It was WASC with buttercream and fondant (super sweet). The head is RKT (first attempt at this). I need to work on smoothing, details, and patience.

Dr. Seuss Baby Shower Cake
I made this for my sister's Seuss-themed baby shower. Hat was WASC w/ Fondant and bottom was WASC w/ buttercream. Figurines are made of gumpaste with a floral wire fork. Had some issues with my Lorax. Hat inspired by brea1026. I was extremely nervous doing a cake where people outside of my immediate family would see it (other than all of you). (My DH convinced me to post the picture of Horton, but I wished I had done him better!)

Twins' Thomas The Train Birthday Cake
Very last minute birthday cake (hence the very messy buttercream) that I did a while ago. The twins' names are on the train cars. Made the face out of gumpaste. I forgot some of the accents like the round windows on the front. I wish I had more time to do it. Oh well. Always next time. My boys didn't seem to mind!

Pregnant Sister With Daisies
This is a cake I did for my pregnant sister's birthday. I was going to do something like this for her shower, but she wants Dr. Seuss. Hope to goodness I can do it. WASC with Easy Marshmallow Fondant and gumpaste daisies and sister. Still can't do hands. First time with hair. I also need more practice with fondant. Thanks to aine2 for tutuorials.

Revolutionary War Character
This was a cake for my father-in-law. He builds muzzleloaders and is a big Revolutionary War buff. This was taken from a photo of him in his colonial garb and the muzzleloader is loosely based on one that he built. The cake he is sitting on is based off another colonial hat he owns. I have yet learned how to smooth the buttercream icing and how to prevent the gumpaste from cracking. Remember, I am just a beginner.

Little Girl And Her Faithful Teddy Bear
This is the first cake I made using fondant and my first gumpaste character. It is a birthday cake for my sister. It is modeled after a picture of her when she was 3 years old with her "Fuzzy" bear. Thank you aine2 for your wonderful help through tutorials. I know I need a BUNCH more practice, but it was fun to do (even if it does look rough).
