My First Wedding Cake!
I always told myself that I wasn't good enough to do a wedding cake, but for my own brother, I thought I would give it a shot. His bride wanted red, black and white, with calla lilies. She left the rest up to me. The scroll work was inspired by my own Pfaltzgraff dinner dishes. Top tier is a spice cake with cream cheese filling and cream cheese buttercream covered in fondant. The bottom tier is my chocolate whiskey spice cake with chocolate cream filling and vanilla buttercream covered in fondant. TFL!!

Last Minute Birthday Cake.
For a friend who asked me on the 10th to make her a cake for delivery on the 11th. After having to make 3 cakes that wouldn't stick to the pan, even with the Cake Release, I finally got one to cool be ready for decorating around 10pm. FUN! I was so tired, I didn't know what to decorate it with. I'm not happy with this cake, but she was! I guess that's what matters...

Robot Cake
My friend picked out this ugly robot head for his birthday cake, so just to show that it didn't belong in the cake disasters folder, I took the picture of the cake along side of the picture he chose for the design. LOL All in all, I think it came out fine. It's all fondant with some buttercream accents and butterscotch eyes.

Fairy And Butterfly Cake
This is my version of Debbie Brown's toadstool cake. My friend wanted butterflies and fairies with blues and purples and I had no idea what to do. I think my fairies look like they are on steroids.... LOL Oh, all fondant covered, chocolate bourbon cake with some buttercream accents.

Henna Birthday Cake
I had no idea what to do for my roommate, but I know she loves Henna designs. I had some left over fondant and buttercream so I mixed the yellow and red fondants (a little too much) but I didn't get the effect I was looking for. I had some red butter cream that I was using on a different cake, but it actually blends really well with the fondant and you can't see it! Oh well. I hope she likes it. I don't think it came out to bad for a "throw-together" cake. Oh I should probably mention that the Arabic writing says "Happy Birthday Laura!"

Birthday Cake For A Special Girl
My friend's little girl just overcame double pneumonia just in time for her birthday. She wanted a cherry cake with Black, Pink and Silver stars. This is what she got. I was a little disappointed about my pink luster on the bottom border though. They turned the pink balls red. My wire cutters were missing too, so I had to twist the wires to make them shorter. I think they are too much now. O well... lesson learned. :) Thanks for looking!

"henna" Cake
This was my entry into a cake decorating contest in Glendale, AZ this past weekend. It's a real cake with fondant over buttercream and buttercream Mehndi designs. After rolling the fondant, my hands were so shaky and in pain that I had a really hard time with the piping, but I managed to get through it at the cost of my symetry, of course. I put my signature in Arabic on the sides in mirror-image.

Mini-Cakes For A Friend's Mother
I was asked by a friend to make some mini cakes for a birthday basket for her mother. She wanted pink and brown specifically. They are both white cakes with raspberry filling covered with fondant. The scrollwork was a thick buttercream. It was also my first time ever doing scrollwork.
