Chocolate Leaf Cake - 2011
I wanted to make a chocolate leaf cake, but after putting the leaves on the cake in the design I wanted the cake seemed a little bare so it turned it a tree cake. Baked it for a cake auction and it sold well :) I made the chocolate leaves from spinach leaves. Easiest way so you don't need to worry about any chemicals on the leaves.

Laptop Cake - 2010
This was made for my cousin who is always on his laptop so I thought this would be pretty fitting. I had limited time to make the cake so I didn't attempt a large laptop cake but decided to make a small laptop out of fondant to place on top of the cake. Next time I think I'll attempt a full-size laptop cake.

Baseball Lover - 2010
This cake was made for a 9 year olds birthday party. The cupcakes were iced in buttercream with a fondant bat and the baseball was covered in fondant. It was extremely difficult to cover a sphere shape in fondant but I somehow managed to get it to work. There were a few things I'd do next time but I was pretty pleased with the ending result.

Little Blue Birds - 2010
This is a simple cake I made for my little cousin turning 4. He was in love with birds and popcorn at the time so I made a little figurine of him feeding popcorn to the little blue birds. I also made little fondant ropes and placed them around the sides of the cake to add a little more decoration and color. The cake is iced in buttercream frosting and all decorations are made from fondant except for the rock path which is just chocolate rocks that I bought from the local cake decoration store.

Sports Car - 2010
This is the first car cake I have ever made for my brother's 22nd birthday. It was supposed to be some sort of lamborgini but I think it just ended up being sports car cake. I carved the cake from 2- 13"x9" sheets and covered it in buttercream and fondant. All of the car decorations are made from fondant.

Relay For Life Birthday Cake
There was a bake-off at my school and the theme was "celebrating a world with more birthdays". The bake-off was to support Relay for Life so I added purple ribbons around the cake. The ribbons and the world are both fondant and the rest of the decorations are buttercream frosting.

Mickey Mouse Birthday - 2010
My 2nd attempt at a FBCT. I actually made this in my dorm for a friend who is a huge Disney fan. If I had more time and resources at school with me I definitely would have added a border or something to the cake, but I was pretty pleased with what I could do in a short amount of time. If you have any advice on how to get the FBCT flat on the cake, please share :)

Tickle Me Elmo - 2009
I had wanted to make an Elmo cake for my cousin Luke's 3rd birthday, but I'm not the best at creating characters that you would be able to recognize. I saw on cake central how many people use frozen buttercream cake transfers to make characters so I read a few articles on how to do it and tried it out. It smeared a little when I put it on the cake, but it definitely looked Elmo so I was pleased =)

Finally 21 - 2009
This was made for my brother's 21st birthday. I was having a really hard time the day I was making this cake and couldn't get it exactly how I wanted, but the cake is supposed to resemble a green poker chip with an alcoholic bottle on top. My brother instead thought it was a St. Patrick's Day cake. His birthday was in July so it couldnt really have passed for that, but oh well. It was last minute =)

Winter Fun! - 2008
I must give all credit for the idea of this cake to miss_sweetstory "Snowmen playing". I fell in love with the cake when I saw it on CC that I had to make it for myself for our big Christmas Celebration. This was my first attempt of modeling something out of fondant. The Christmas tree is an ice cream cone covered in fondant and sprinkle with powdered sugar and all the other decorations are made from fondant

High School Graduation Cake - 2009
Here s a picture of the three-tiered graduation cake I made for my open house. It was pretty difficult being my first tiered cake and all and learning how to tier the cake from a book, but it never fell over so I think it worked pretty well. The cake was modeled after the invitation cards that I designed. The middle layer is all about me and my life in high school (Dance, piano, music, soccer, NHS....) And on the top of the cake is a road showing that my high school road has ended and my road to college is beginning. All decorations included the graduate is made from fondant and placed on buttercream frosting.
