I made this cake for my new husband and my very first cookout. My MIL makes cakes, too, so I wanted this one to look good. This is my first time trying scrollwork and I thought that it was a lot of fun. I was having a little problem with my icing being too thin--but I think that the final cake is lovely. My sister just became a cosmetologist and asked for a hairdryer for her birthday cake so that is actually what she got! I made this cake for my 3 year old nephew and he loved it! This was my first time trying to make little figures-thought they looked ok for little cartoons. He is vanilla pound cake with chocolate buttercream icing and chocolate fondant. His head is RKT. This was actually my second attempt-and I learned a lot from the first. I hope this is the first of many!
My husband wanted this cake for his birthday. I just printed out a picture of the mustang, cut it out, and then cut the fondant around it. I thought that it turned out pretty nice.
I made this cake for my brother-in-law's graduation from medical school. It is just chocolate buttercream with a fondant diploma on top. The seal is covered in gold dust. He loved it!
I made this cake for baby shower. The bonnet is made of royal icing molded over Wilton's egg pan. It was a lot of fun to make!
