All Because Two People Fell In Love...family Reunion Cake

I made this cake for our family reunion. It was my first three-tier cake, and my first SPS cake. (I need to work on my tier height for SPS.) I used edible images of my grandparents' and their children's (my parents', aunts' and uncles') wedding pictures, and some other old family photos on it. I wrote "All because two people fell in love" on it, too. It wasn't really a wedding cake, but it represented all their weddings. It made people cry, so I guess it was a hit.

Vintage 1977 Wedding Cake

Our 1977 wedding cake, made by unknown baker at wedding venue. It was white with salmon/peachy roses. I have no idea what the filling was, and I'm pretty sure the cake was vanilla. Note the tilting cake and lop-sided cheesey plastic topper. On our first anniversary, we threw out the freezer-burned top tier and the grease-soaked topper. Aaaaahhhhh.........Memories! Don't miss the bridesmaid smoking in the background, right next to the cake! Doesn't the cheap, fake lily of the valley give a nice touch?

Small Cupcake Tower

I made this small cupcake tower from plastic box picture frames and trinket boxes from the craft store. Legs and center supports are lucite blocks I stumbled upon at the dollar store. You can put things--flowers, confetti, whatever--in the boxes to "fancy up" the stand.

7-Tier Cupcake Tower

I made this 7-tier cupcake tower from plywood and flower pots. The plywood is covered with doilies then vinyl tablecloth material. The graduation cap topper is made from chocolate clay over two stacked cupcakes.
