Holy Sweet Family
my first try with gum paste. i tried somebody's suggestions of using fondant mixed with gum tragacanth and i must agree that it hardens quickly, easy to work with and very predictable when using models. the father angel is the first trial and as you can see the hands look funny. the baby's hands are better as i'm beginning to learn from my mistakes. i am planning to change father's hands. btw, i will be using these figures for a Christening cake. the mother wants a cake with angel. TFL! and thanks CC.

Bows And Dots
the mother wanted a pink and white only for the cake. i tried to put green to add contrast.i think it worked as the mother and children were jumping seeing the cake! got the design mostly from a birthday card. i've just added some variations.i dont know how to make gumpaste so i used fondant for all the accents including the number. and unluckily after this picture was taken, the number fell off and was broken! arrgh! and it was dried for 3 days.

fully inspired by SQUAREPAIRs work (i hope she wouldnt mind). Her's is perfection, and professional of course. while mine is the opposite(obvious). i made this for a little boy's first birthday. i just applied some variations to make it a bit boyish and also i want to put first time made converse shoes to signify the boy's walking stage.it's a non-profit cake.i only took some monies for the oven. thank you lots squarepair! and thank you, too CC!

Tai's Christening Cake
two layer of rich chocolate cake covered with fondant. the cake topper is a musical carousel i always wanted to amuse babies at least as they're too young to eat the cake! and to be honest it is a pink carousel for a little boy(blue ones gone so quickly in the shop!)however, i managed to hide the pink colour with blue boiled icing works as you can see. sorry for the tilt(its the carousel's fault)and sorry for the flaw ( on the background wall...lol)
