Fall Festival
This is a display for the store I work at. The fruits and vegetables are all gum paste, the cornucopia is made with royal icing over a snow cone cup. Grapes are hand rolled from purple gum paste. Some of the vines around the edge are broken, as people always want to touch the cakes. I couldn't figure out what to make the apple stems out of, so I just took some real apple stems out of apples and put them in-now they look realistic!

Aquarium Cake
This is an aquarium (or rather the entire ocean!) I just completed for a 12 year old. I used the chocolate chip cookie dough filling from this site, and it was excellent! Chocolate treasure box is completely edible, made from a mold, where I had to put the sides and top on. Took about 12 hours total but it was fun!

Mermaid Barbie
I am an instructor at our local craft/fabric store. I made this cake for a display. My two girls used to play with this Barbie, but they let me have it to "transform" her. I wrapped the tail in gum paste and use a tip 352 for the "scales" with about 4 different colors of icing in the bag. All shells etc on the cake are just fondant popped into molds. The shell she is sitting in was the hardest-pink gum paste which I actually draped over a real shell that one of my girls had collected from the beach. I then let it dry like that, so it had the shell "lines". I recently had to take down the cake, as it has faded, but she's coming back soon on a white cake in a red sleigh for the holidays!
