First time making black BC, I think it turned out good. Also, first time making a tiered cake, ended up a little lop-sided, but I'll work on that! :) This was for a goth themed adult birthday party, so I did an upside down pentagram often used in gothic culture ( I hope they don't see it as too satanic!)
Made for my Aunt and Uncle. Butter Pecan cake filled and iced with pralines and cream BC. Filling and detail icing has crushed pecans mixed in, made tip choice narrow, but tasted great! Roses made with fondant.
This is my engagement cake. My family let me make it for myself! It's marble cake with fudge BC filling. Covered in BC, fondant road, and RI flowers. Fondant sign "glued" to popsicle stick with RI (St. Gabe's is the church we are getting married at). I really enjoyed making this cake! And the "icing on the cake" at the party was receiving a KA mixer as a gift!!! I'm in 7th heaven now!!

Devil's food filled with chocolate mousse (janh recipe). Covered with chocolate BC and dipped strawberries. Finished off with piroulines and a ribbon (goota work on tying a bow!). Inspired by many seen here on CC. Made for a BBQ at a friend's.
This is a dummy cake used for practice. Bottom is covered with fondant and top is convered in buttercream with fondant bow. Hard time smoothing the icing because of lumpy saran wrap convering the dummy and dummy was too light! Was fun though!
Not really a first time cake from a class as I am teaching myself, but this was my first time using real fondant (DH and friends don't seem to like MMF) and first practice buttercream roses. Definately need more practice for both fondant and roses! Can't seem to get it right!
Chocolate with Mocha filling and MMF. First time with MMF. Teaching myself decorating...just bought a tip set so had to try it out! Gotta work on it! Also must add that Christmas cake pic after Easter is because I finally got the courage to post pics of cakes!
