3D Standing Yoda!
Here he is . . . the birthday boy asked for a root beer flavored standing 3D Yoda cake. He ended up being about 15" tall. His body is shaped from four oval root beer cakes, covered in buttercream frosting and edged in fondant ropes. I used a plastic canvas to make the texture of the robe. His hand and feet are made of fondant. His head is rice krispie treats with fondant molded to shape his facial features and hand-painted eyes. His ears are made of fondant formed around wires to hold the shape and are pushed into his head with lollipop sticks. Thanks for looking!!

Minnie Mouse Cake With Ruffles
This is a 9"/6" round two tier cake frosted in buttercream with fondant accents. The Minnie hat is half a styrofoam ball covered in fondant. Inspiration came from all the other Minnie cakes in the gallery, and especially KsCakes09, where I got the idea for the ruffles. This was the first time I got to do a cake for a little girl, so there was pink and bows and glitter, oh my! :)

Noah's Ark Baby Shower Cake
(Replaced picture to add a clearer view) Bottom is a 12" square WASC with buttercream frosting. The ark is a s'mores cake - MacsMom's graham cracker cake, marshmallow filling and chocolate buttercream. The topper is made of foamcore covered in fondant and the animals are fondant. This is my version of a cake done by Cakepro, who also helped me figure out some of the techniques used here.

Warhol Gerbera Daisy Pop Art Square Cake
My version of the Kate Sullivan / KoryAK pop art Warhol-esque gerbera daisy cake. Top tier is a 6" WASC with white chocolate truffle filling. Bottom tier is a 9" lemon WASC with raspberry filling, all covered in Indydebi's buttercream. The cake was done for a bridal shower, and they gave me free reign - they asked for something fun and whimsical.

Standing Lego Power Miners Rock Monster
This was my son's 6th birthday cake. He's a fan of the Lego Rock Monster from Lego Power Miners. Two examples of the rock monsters are on the board. He requested a blue rock monster, standing up, with his mouth open, and his arm held up, holding a crystal, since rock monsters eat crystals, of course :). This is what he got. Mostly buttercream, with fondant accents. Arms are rice krispie treats covered in buttercream. Crystals are purchased rock candy. I will also upload a pic of his skeleton.

Square Saxophone Hand Painted Buttercream
A cake for my dad's birthday - he turned 66 and he's played the saxophone since he was in school. It's a 9" square 1 layer butter pecan cake, frosted in Indydebi's buttercream. This was my first time handpainting on buttercream - it's obviously not perfect, but my dad loved it. I found out that straight Americolor painted gently on the buttercream worked best. The outline, of course, was piped in buttercream after the painting was done.

Christmas Vacation Birthday Cake
A birthday cake for a guy whose favorite movie is Christmas Vacation (with Chevy Chase), hence the lights, tree, squirrel, burned cat imprint in the cake, and large dog. The wording on the board is his fave quote from the movie. It was a 7" round snickerdoodle flavored cake with a 7" snickerdoodle cookie tier (stacked between the two tiers of cake. Lights are pressed sugar (purchased). All other figures are handmade out of fondant.
