I made this mini 3 tier cake for my great nephew's 1st bday. This was his smash cake. It consists of a 4" cake, 3 " cake and a 2 " cake. (cake pans purchased through Current magazine) All yellow dough with buttercream icing. I went with primary colors of Blue, yellow and red. I also made cupcakes, mini cupcakes and cookies for the guests.
I made this mini 3 tier cake for my nephew's first birthday smash cake. The cakes were made with 4", 3" and 2" cake pans purchased from Current Magazine. The cake was egg free and dairy free due to my nephew's allergies. The icing is a dairy free buttercream dyed brown. (looks like chocolate, doesnt it?). I used a one of the smaller grass tips to make the grass and picked out all the bananas from a few boxes of Runts ;-) Of course, since the bananas are hard, we had to make sure the birthday boy didnt eat any since he's only 1. Oh, monkey on top of the cake is a stuffed animal my sister picked up for her son.
I bought this kit from Ebay. It came with Thomas' face plate, plastic wheels, the number one and Thomas' top funnel. It also included instructions to cut and stack a 12x18 cake and decorate like Thomas. I made this cake for my son's 3rd birthday. I also set up a battery operated track around the cake and had a battery operated Thomas pulling a bunch of troublesome trucks filled with candy. THAT was the big hit with the kids.
This was a last minute cake for my nephew. I was going for the Surf's Up look for Pablo and the cake. I used buttercream, tinted it pale blue and iced the cake to look like ocean waves. Pablo took longer than the entire cake :) He's made from rolled fondant. I just kind of winged it with him but I think he turned out cute. The only thing missing is his Tiki necklace. I wanted to add the necklace but I was so tired........... I skipped it.
I made these lady bug cupcakes to go along with my daughter's 2nd birthday ladybug cake and cookies.
I used a cut-out cookie recipe and dipped the cookie in sprinkles before baking and used black buttercream to outline the cookie and add the dots.
I made this for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I used a domed cake pan. I believe it was yellow dough and iced with buttercream icing. I bought the little sugar ladybugs from Sugarcraft.com (I believe). Ironically, no one would eat the lady bugs head :)
I bought this cake kit from ebay. It came with directions for cutting/stacking two 9x13 cakes and it came with the 5 fairies and an ink pad (fairies have a stamp on the bottom so the birthday girl can use them as stampers after the party ) I used all buttercream to decorate and blue sparkle gel for the water. Oh, and lots of edible glitter and pastel dragees.
