Wisteria On The Vine With Peonies
My two favorite spring flowers.... wisteria and peonies!!! I searched and searched for instructions on how to make wisteria blossoms but couldn't find them anywhere. So I experimented for a couple of days until I was satisfied with my results. The flowers, leaves and wisteria vines are all gum paste. Although it was a little time consuming, this cake was very fun to make! This cake was in the June issue of Cake Central magazine.

Drum Roll
A birthday cake for my 15 yr. old son. He's the state champion drum set player in his age group. This was my first try at making a tilted wedge cake. I made the wedge too steep so the top cake slid down a little into the bottom cake. All well... I learned something new and I'm sure I'll get it right next time. The cymbal, musical notes and drumsticks are all gum paste. Over all I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. TFL!

Autumn Wedding Cake
When I made this cake the only instruction the bride gave me was that she wanted fall leaves. I later talked to her mother, and she told me that the bride's favorite flower was a tiger lily. So they gave me artistic license to do what I wanted. Luckily everyone loved my cake design. I was very pleased with the way it turned out! Strawberry marble cake with white truffle filling.

Sweet Sixteen
My daughter loves panda bears, so for her 16th birthday I made this cake. It's covered with white chocolate fondant. The decorations are either gum paste or 50/50 gum paste & fondant mixed together. It was fun to put together and she really liked how it turned out. There's a close up picture of the panda on top of the cake in the 3-D gallery. I wish this picture had turned out a little better though.......all well!
