This is the cake I made for my daughter's 5th birthday. The fondant poodle on top is modeled after her favorite stuffed animal, a pink poodle beanie baby. It is my first attempt at an animal figure and it was a learning experience, but lots of fun! Cake decorations inspired by the poodle plates that I ordered online.
Cake and cake board are covered in MMF. The flowers are MMF also.
This is made with the Wilton castle set for my daughter's 4th birthday. She really loved this cake and still thinks it is her cake that is on the cover of the Wilton yearbook. hehe I don't think I am ready for magazine covers just yet, but it is fun to have her as my biggest fan.
Design is from a Wilton publication (Fondant Fun I think). Baby, moon and stars are a combination of fondant and gum paste. Buttons and letters are fondant, cake is iced in buttercream.
