Mother's day cupcakes. Modeling chocolate flowers. They turned out looking really Autumn-like, and not Spring-y like I had hoped. They sure tasted good though. Orange rum cupcakes with fresh mango buttercream. Yum!
I never had as many problems with a cake as I did with this one. My first time using MMF, wasn't as easy as working with RBC. This cake looks nothing like what I had in mind. Somehow it ended up looking like a big turd. Si I had to start over with a new tier and I just quickly added the vines and border. I think it was a miraculous save compared to how it looked previously. Not my best, but I'm ok with it. I had a little accident while moving it, the cake board buckled under the weight and smooshed the cake
My first tiered cake and first experience using plastic chocolate. Somewhat similar to using fondant. All edible. And the cake is......lemon flavor! I'm pretty pleased with this one as it is only my 3rd cake.
I was inspired by the other spaghetti cakes I have seen on here. They all looked so good I had to try one. I made this for my friends birthday. She seemed really confused when I brought it to her. She didn't believe it was a cake so she poked the "noodles" with her finger, to her surprise they smooshed. It was a hit and so much fun. Would definately make this again!
This was my first experience using fondant. I had never even seen or tasted fondant before. I was pretty impressed being that it was my first. My fondant was a little greasy but oh well. It was a poundcake with raspberry cream filling, made for my Mom's birthday. Hopefully I can only improve more from this point. Oh! I've also never piped icing before.
