Dad's birthday cake buttercream sheet cake with mmf fondant accents
4 tiered cake covered in buttercream colored only with regular vanilla orange ribbon around each tier.. Mirrors were used on top of 2 nd and 3rd tier. With brandy snifters used to hold up the next tier. Inside each brandy snifter is a battery operated votive which was sprayed with gold glitter spray. flowers are all gumpaste and colored using Apricot, bronze, gold and yellow luster dust. This cake was made by myself and my 2 aunts one of which was the bride.
Cake covered in buttercream, Coral up the side of cake piped with buttercream .figures made from MMF. All orange coral on cake is made from isomalt melted and poured over ice. Fish on top of cake are suckers that were bought at a candy store.
Covered with MMF playhouse is half ball pan. head, leg, foot, arm and hand are made from RKT covered in chocolate then MMF. Ears were made with black colored chocolate wafer molded in the lid of a plastic container.Fence is made from full size laffy taffy. walk way is made with Necco wafers Slide is made from MMF. Minnie mouse is a figurine.
Cake is covered in MMF. All decorations are made out of MMF except for the smiley faces which are made from yellow candy melts. trimmed with buttercream icing.
