I made this cake for two kids birthdays last year. It is a 12 x 18 cake. I used a projector to put the sabres logo on the cake. It is done the same way you do a character cake. Just be careful to not move the projector or bump the table while putting the outlines on:)
My daugther turned 7 yrs. old in March. Saw this cake in a Wilton magazine. The butterflies are rolled fondant sprayed with color. Royal icing for body, antennas and eyes. She loved it!
I made this 4 layer stack cake for my nephews wedding last summer. The base layer was 18". It was my first wedding cake. I was very nervous, but I'm pleased with the end product.
