Made this as my first cake "for" someone. 60th Birthday surprise party for my friend's mom. Chocolate fudge cake with buttercream top and bottom and top tier had chocolate chip cookie filling, too. Gumpaste decorations and hibiscus; white chocolate seashells. I learned a lot more making this cake...I wish I had extra time to work on the details, but two jobs prevent me from putting my undivided attention into caking! I used an SPS system for the first time in this cake, and was very pleased that my only disaster was one of the shells falling off of the top tier and landing in my writing...it was still readable. Best part is that we traveled about 20 miles with this cake.
Here's the first cake from course 3. Lots of fun to make...not enough time in a 2 hour class! I also had to buy the cake from a bakery since I didn't have enough time, and it's not tall enough...oh well! Thanks for looking!
This is my final course 2 cake. I know my buttercream was too soft, but it kinda slouched over in the car ride on the way home. It was fun to do the basketweave though!
Birthday cupcakes for a friend made by myself and two others. This was my first time making cupcakes so I'm excited at how cute they turned out! WASC cupcakes with buttercream dream, sanding sugar, mini chocolate chips and dragees. The plain one doesn't have any butercream on top for those who don't like a lot of sweetness. We just put a raspberry on top with a bc leaf. Thanks for looking!

I am kinda proud / kinda embarrassed about this one. It is my first fondant attempt and my second cake ever in my life. I had no plan for the decorations, so it IS pretty corny looking - but on the other hand I am proud because it's not falling over, using fondant was easier than I thought it would be - and I have never taken a class!
