Sloppy But Yummy
this was my sister's graduation cake. she requested "fudge frosting" and "chocolate covered strawberries". fudge frosting is a cake decorator's worst nightmare! sets so fast and is very hard to work with, but we did it anyway! the results looked pretty bad. but i put buttercream on the cake, and just poured the fudge frosting and tried to get that "dripping effect". I used the strawberries to try to hide most of the cake! But as ugly as this cake was...the taste was heavenly! I still crave this cake!

Transformer Cake
This was my little boy's 6th birthday cake. 2 tier (10'' & 8") All buttercream except the autobot face, letters, and "rocks" were MMF (i am still not so great w/ that stuff). The figurines on top were our present to him, so he was surpized and excited to see them. I got the inspiration from ladywax05's cake, however I did it no justice. That's what happens when you wait until the last minute to start a cake!

50Th Birthday
3 tiers-10" , 8" and 6" . the mini 8" was thrown in because the hostess was worried there would not be enough cake. black w/ red, orange, and yellow flames. all buttercream. 50 on top is a candle and the buzzard is a paper cut out. very similar to my star wars cake (which was inspired by iloveconfections's post)

Cherry Blossom Anniversary Cake
This was for an oriental them 50th wedding anniversary celebration. It was HUGE. I can't remember for sure, but I think the tier sizes are 12, 10, and 8. The bottom was 2 layers, and the others were 3 for the taller tier look. all 3 were different flavors (red velvet, chocolate, and vanilla). Everything is buttercream except for the flowers are MMF.

Good Luck Cookie Cake
This was a throw together at the last minute cake. My son went to kindergarten this year, and was not too excited about it...so I thought a special night with a special cookie cake just for him would get him excited. We had it to celebrate his first day of school. I used the wilton cookie cake pan and iced it in buttercream to match his school colors, and the bobcat feet for his school mascot.

Softball Birthday
This was for a little girl who plays softball, and uses that bright yellow ball. The cake is 2 tiered --10''. i used crushed graham crackers for the dirt, and the grass is of course the grass tip (it's my favorite) and the softballs around the edges are just cookies iced in buttercream.

Construction Theme Birthday
This was my mom's birthday cake. I know it looks more like a little boy's cake. She works for the state DOTD, and was currently supervising a job like this..so that is the theme I decided to take her little party. All icing is buttercream, rocks are candy rocks, dirt is crushed oreo, cones are candy corn, and the toy trucks were picked up at Target. She loved it, and her coworkers especially loved it! thanks to everyone on this site for the great ideas..the caution tape look was picked up here.
