I made this cake for my MIL who enjoys crocheting. It is a chocolate cream cheese cake with chocolate cream cheese icing. The yarn balls are rice crispy treats cover in fondant to look like yarn. I made the scissors by hand with a fondant/gumpaste mixture. The color is a bit off in the photo, the fondant handles were closer to the same color as the icing.
I made this cake for my daughter who had requested a "snowman" cake. Since she also enjoys snow globes I decided to make this cake for her. I used a round vase turned upside down for the globe. All fondant figures. Thanks to cookiecutters for inspiration.

This was a birthday cake for my mom whose birthday is 5 days before Christmas. She also loves Christmas. The tree is made from rice crispy treats covered in royal icing. My icing was too runny so had some problems with that but think the tree turned out okay anyway. The cake is 10 inch chocolate with fudge filling and iced in buttercream. I decided to do candy decorations on the tree so the kids would have fun eating it! The presents are store bought chocolate mints. Had lots of fun making this cake!
