Race Car
This was the largest cake and most challenging I have made yet! It was 3 ft. long and 16 inches wide. Vanilla and chocolate cake covered with buttercream and then fondant. I used edible images and the rest is hand painted because the printer for the edible images wouldn't cooperate. The design on the board is from the invitations the client sent out. I was given a photo of their race car and asked to make a cake, SO difficult!!

Race Car
Wedding cake for a fun couple who loves racing. This is actually their car that I tried hard to replicate. I had issues with the stickers, the orange faded to pink after I put them on!! I had to paint them with orange, so it took longer than anticipated. I don't know why the color faded! The car is made out of fondant. It's a simple cake, but I didn't want it too look like a kid's cake, I was going for more "elegant". I hope the Bride and Groom agree!

Santa
Thanks to all the wonderful CC decorators who inspired me. This is a gluten free cake w/buttercream covered w/fondant. Santa's bottom is also cake and his legs are fondant on a dowel to hold them in place. Santa's bag is also cake covered w/fondant. I used an impression matt for the brick and then painted the individual bricks w/2 different colors. It was so much fun, just wish I had more time to make rudolph! Gotta stop somewhere!

Thomas
Vanilla & Chocolate pound cake w/French vanilla icing. Thomas' face is rice crispy treats covered w/fondant. All accents are fondant. I had a hard time w/his face, but in the end my nephew new who it was right away, so in the end I was happy. Thanks again to all the inspiration and help I get from looking at all the great cakes on CC.

Mommy & Baby Dolphin
A friend wanted a baby shower cake w/a dolphin theme. I found my inspiration from CC member bhv333, before seeing hers I was not really sure what to make. Her cake was so perfect that I used many of her ideas for my cake. I just hope mine looks as great as hers! Everything is cake covered w/fondant except the very small rocks, small accents and the dolphins. The mommy dolphin is rice crispy treats and the baby is fondant. The sand is brown sugar. I was able to integrate a gluten free cake, the top "rock" is GF and separate from the bottom 2 layers. My daughter was happy because her & I actually got to enjoy the cake along w/everyone else :-)

Volcano
Chocolate and vanilla cake with buttercream. Rocks are chocolate, found them at Walmart and they tasted great and look so real. It was a nice surprise to find the rocks, saved me lots of time! My daughter loves rocks and she learned that some types of rocks form from lava so she wanted a cake that had both. She also loved my previous Hawaii cake and wanted hers to have a beach and water. She is my toughest client! She wanted a mermaid, but I told her I had to stop somewhere! Next time....

Batman
Client loved a Spiderman cake I did so she asked me to make similar one for a Batman theme birthday. I was bummed because I was hoping she wanted a Batmobile! She was worried about all the black fondant.... It came out cute, but it was almost ruined because the building drooped forward over night because of the humidity! Luckily I always make more than I need so I just had to make some adjustments first thing in the morning. Boy was I upset when I woke up to that!! The client loved the cake & couldn't tell what had happened hours before. :-) Batman beacon (whatever it is called) is chocolate melts. Thought it would be better to have a chocolate lolly pop instead of gumpaste. Batman is a figurine that the little boy requested. Everything else is fondant and gumpaste.
