This was for a little girl turning 8 years old. I used a 11 x 15 sheet to carve the guitar from. I covered a board with fondant for the neck. And a block of wood was covered in fondant for the support for the neck. The cake is french vanilla with buttercream and fondant/gum paste accents. I loved doing this cake it was fun to do. This is a cake for a "bridging over" graduation from cub scouts to boy scouts. The cake is a 11x15 sheet, WASC with buttercream and fondant accents. I wasn't looking forward to doing this cake, I really wanted to get it over with and get to my next cake, a guitar cake. But I was happier with this cake than I thought I would be. This was a practice cake for a shower. This is the first time I tried covering a cake in fondant. I have used fondant and gumpaste for accents but never to cover the cake. I think it was okay but I still need a lot of practice. I did realize one thing fondant covered cakes need more support than a buttercream cake. Fondant isn't as forgiving as buttercream. This cake was for a man that loves hunting and fishing. I could never get my fish to "break" the water right so I just put a fish tail in the pond. The cake is WASC, buttercream and a few fondant accents. The fish tail and rocks are fondant. TFL!

This cake is for a 50th wedding anniversary. The couples children gave them a surpise anniversary party. They wanted a 4 tiered wedding cake for the party. The cake is 12", 10", 8" and 6". It is WASC with buttercream. The initial is done in fondant. The 50, ribbon & buttercream are gold color however this picture didn't show the true color. This cake was inspired by Helipops and Rocketgirl889's Calla lillies cake. I still have a long way to go, my cake didn't turn out as good. I also did a cucpcake table.
The customer ordered a birthday cake for an adult male, with no instructions on what she wanted. She didn't have any ideas, "just do something nice". So this was it. I hate to do a birthday cake for a man without details from the customer. It is hard to come up with ideas without it being to frilly or to "pretty". The cake is WASC with buttercream. TFL!!
