1St Paid Wedding Cake

1St Paid Wedding Cake

Caramel w/ BC Icing. The idea was from Wilton "Tiered Cakes" book, "Lace Flair". On the bottom are 6-6" 2 layer cakes, next is a 14" 2 layer cake, then a 10" 2 layer cake, & finally an 8" 2 layer cake. Cake tops & arcs are decorated w/ "sotas". Gold dragees in each top bead. Extra dowels for the framed picture - a nice personalized touch I thought. TFL

Four-Tiered Retirement Cake

Four-Tiered Retirement Cake

White almond sour cream & chocolate fudge almond sour cream cake, torted w/chocolate mousse filling, & finally smothered w/heavenly fudge icing. The roses are chocolate & white Tootsie Rolls. This was the first tiered cake & the first Tootsie Roll roses I had ever made. It was for my DH's retirement. He wanted it to look like there were ropes w/knots around the cake. The roses were my idea for the kids - LOL. It's not perfect but everyone liked it & we had fun. Thanks for looking & critiquing!

Texas Hold'em Cake For Sil

Texas Hold'em Cake For Sil

15 inch hexagonal yellow cake with French vanilla mousse and buttercream icing, then covered with fondant. My SIL loves to play Texas Hold'em so when he graduated from college, my DD, DH, & I thought he'd love this cake and he did. It was a lot of fun to make. This was my first shot at making a fondant covered cake all on my own. I was very happy with the way it turned out. Hope you'll like it too!
