I originally wanted to cover the bouqeut with white and pink roses, however the roses that were on the bouquet sides kept falling off. I have several demos to do in the next few weeks so I am going to keep experimenting.
8" square cake iced in a flat basket weave design and topped with large chocolate drizzled fresh strawberries.
This cake was actually used as a "In Sympathy" occassion, but felt that roses equal Valentines. THis is a 13" x 9" cake cut in half and stacked, covered in a crisco based buttercream icing. The roses are Wilton style and the design was inspired by old Wilton training videos. Thank you
Buttercream icing made thicker with flour so it would hang on the cake-resulting in the sliding mountain effect. The snow is royal icing. The penguins are modeled from fondant and painted with gel colors-a bad idea after three days they still were very wet.
