3D Star Wars R2-D2 Cake
Made for my Star Wars-obsessed son's 6th birthday. 3 or 4 (can't remember) stacked 6" rounds topped w/half 6" ball pan. PVC structure thru for legs, cov'd in RKT and fondant (not well). Cov'd cakes in fondant & used butter knife to "carve" panels. Painted w/watered-down gel tint. Cake SANK overnight, so we called him battle R2-D2.

Golf Course Cake
10" round cake topped w/6" round. Carved out sand trap, filled w/brown sugar which soaked in, so I added more after pics. Frosted in B/C. Gumpaste trees w/pretzel stick trunks. Great video on youtube to make trees, but trees were "cute", and I wanted realistic, so I cut a little rougher. Gumpaste ball in trap made by my 6-yr-old so it is HUGE which is the hole is huge, too.

Farm Themed Birthday Cake
First cake semi-decorated. Son's 2nd b-day party. Bought qtr-sheet cake at Costco frosted in chocolate icing w/no decoration. Frosted the grass and used a decorating tip to make the tufts of grass. Left bare area for animal pens. Used craft/candy sticks for pen fences and birthday sign. Sign and barn are printed off of the computer and laminated, not edible. :0( Accessories are my son's Fisher-Price Little People from the farm set. Maybe I will try gumpaste/fondant/marzipan figures someday.

Rescue Heroes Birthday Cake
Son's 4th B-day party w/Rescue Hereos theme. Have only decorated 3 cakes in my life, this was #2. Building is four 6-inch square cakes stacked. Tried fondant on bldg. Did not work as I'd never used it before. Frosted cake grey. Flames are tinted fondant using leaf cutters. Fondant windows and door, too. Cut a hole on top and placed small glass bowl w/dry ice for smoke when candles were lit. So cool! Accessories are my son's mini Rescue Heroes toys. He was thrilled with this cake!

Space Cake
Half Sheet cake cut to make the space shuttle. Ran out of frosting, so only a "crumb coat" is on the shuttle. Would have looked much better w/another coat (or fondant). Royal Icing accents. The Moon is made with the Sports Ball cake pan. Tinted whipped frosting grey, and left all the imperfections. Craters made w/frosting spatula; tried a buttered spoon per suggestion, but didn't work for me. Topped with space "toys" from a mini moon rover set.
