Serta Sheep Cake
This was a cake I made for Macy's. My MIL who works in the bedding/mattress department aske me to make something to do with the Serta sheep. This is what I came up with. The mattresses are rice crispie treats covered in mmf. The sheep were really fun to make! I have a couple of close ups too!

Turkey Cake
This was such a funny cake to make! So many people had to take a second look to see if it was real! I used the ball pan on top of a 9 in round cake. The legs were mini wonder pan cakes and then I used the sugar cones for the wings and drumsticks. I made it out of white cake except for the drumsticks- those were chocolate cake! LOL I make peas, carrots, green beans and potatoes out of mmf and rice crispie treats. I love the aluminum pan that I put the cake in and it was actually really handy b/c it had the metal handles on the side and a plastic lid for the top! I ended up making 2 one for my husbands office and one for our family gathering on Thanksgiving. Both were a huge hit!!

Yoda Cake
This was my first Yoda cake. I used lots of mmf. I made a layer of mmf to get the wrinkles and details I wanted and then laid another layer of mmf on top of that and smoothed over all the details. The ears are made of rice crispie treats and covered in mmf and stuck in the side of the cake using bamboo skewers. This cake got sooo many compliments and was too funny to look at!

Sushi Cake
I made this cake for my BIL birthday. He LOVES sushi! This has to be one of the most fun cakes I have done. I used rice crispie treats, coconut, couscous, piping gel, mmf, gumpaste and vanilla extract to get all the effects. I made the board to look like a cermaic tile. The dish is gumpaste and the "soy sauce" is vanilla extract. I cannot say it enough how fun this cake was!! This was definitely a cake no one wanted to cut into!

Purse Cake
This was my first attempt at a purse cake.....they are a lot harder than I thought they would be! I think I felt super rushed on this cake and I wasn't happy with the colors . My sister loved it though and that is all that matters! I incorporated the matching wallet which held her gift card to the Coach store along with a matching key chain. I cannot wait to try this again and see what happens!

Mahi Mahi Cake
This cake was HUGE over 3 feet long!!! It was 2 sheet cakes side by side and carved into the shape of a Mahi Mahi. It was for my nephews 8th birthday and loves fishing! This was my first time airbrushing and what a blast that was!! I can't wait to do it again! It's all buttercream except for the eye and small side fin, those are made out of mmf. The only thing I wasn't happy with is the writing. I had intended on using the same white rope used around the edges of the board to be hot glued and used for the writing, but it just wasn't turning out- I think my rope was too thick! :( The funniest part was when my brother and nephew decided to filet the cake instead of cutting it...priceless!!!

Cubs Cake
This cake goes with my other baseball cake. The customer wanted a couple different cakes for his grandmother who was turning 90!! She is a die hard Cubs fan so I did the baseball cupcakes with the Cubs logo on the main cake and a smaller cake with a baseball on top of a round cake iced to look like grass! It was A LOT of cake!!

Pirate Cake
This is the full view of my sons pirate cake for his 3rd birthday! It was a lot of work but totally worth it in the end! I made a double 10in round covered in mmf and designed to look like a treasure map. On top of that I used my 6in oval pan to get the main shape of the ship. All decorations are mmf & gumpaste. I used the food color markers to do the details of the map and pirates tattoos and facial hair.
