Fairy Cake Topper
This is not quite a gumpaste figure, but I made this as a cake topper for a fairy cake. I tried making it from edible cold porcelain at first, but for some reason the head cracked, so opted to go with Fimo. I've never sculpted anything in human form before so it was a bit of a challenge. I think I will use this medium again if I have to make a fairy cake topper like this again.

Fairy Birthday Cake
This is my 7th attempt at a fondant covered cake. It is a gluten free butter cake covered with gluten free fondant with gumpaste flowers. My friend wanted to keep the fairy cake topper, so I opted to make the fairy from Fimo. This was also my first attempt at sculpting anything resembling a human, but I think it didn't turn out too bad.

My Daughter's Birthday Cake
This is my 5th attempt at a fondant covered cake. I think I'm slowly getting the hang of this. This is my first attempt at piping an icing tiara though. I had great fun with it. I made this for my daughter's 12th birthday - she thought it was a real pillow with a tiara when she first saw it - so did everyone else, including the adults. Once they found out that the pillow was a cake, they still thought the tiara was an real tiara. LOL

Australia Day Cake
I made this cake to celebrate Australia Day this year (26 January). My son suggested that when we cut the cake we should cut it into the states and territories (Hubby is willing to wrestle my son for WA and they both reckon that since my daughter is on a diet she has to have the ACT...she is complaining big time, because that leaves her with only a few crumbs...I guess I could always share Tasmania with her [giggle])

1St Birthday
I was asked to make a Gluten Free cake for a first birthday to serve approx 30 to 35 people. This was a bit of a challenge for me since I've never baked a cake this big, plus it is only my fourth fondant covered cake to date. I dropped off the cake today and they were happy with the result.....phew! 'twaz a huge relief!

My First Gumpaste Roses Ever!
This is my very first atempt at gumpaste roses. I baught myself some dual sided cutters (one side cuts petals and the other side cuts the leaves - also baught some leaf veiners), then I got myself a couple of photos of real roses off the internet and made it up as I went along.

My First Cake Ever!
Well, this is not the first cake I've ever baked, but it is my very first attempt at covering a cake with fondant and it is also my very first attempt at making gumpaste roses. (I made it for my friend's Birthday). I bought myself some rose cutters, got some pics of roses and then just made it up as I went along from there. I'm rather chuffed with myself. I think for my first attempt I did not do to badly ......I hope :o) (BTW, it is all Gluten Free....made MMF with GF marshmallows)
