Easter!
This is similar to a cake in the 2008 Wilton Yearbook. Bottom layer is "Butterfly Cake" (recipe here) and the top layer is Lemon. All covered and filled with Lemon Cream Cheese Icing and then covered with fondant. Eggs are fondant with candy sprinkles. Base is fondant with sugar sparkles (unfortunately still a bit wet when I took the picture).

Repetition & Return
This cake was made for my daughter's conference at university. The name of the conference was Repetition & Return. This cake was made to resemble their logo which depicts the Myth of Sisyphus (he was destined to roll a rock uphill and watch it roll back and repeat the process throughout Eternity. This is a 12, 10, 8 and sports ball pan, carved. WASC on the bottom two layers, chocolate on top. (Special thanks to Doug who was very helpful with design ideas - I decided to go with rounds in the end to match their logo.)

Go Leafs Go
I made this for my daughter-in-law's birthday - she's a big Leafs fan and had requested this months ago. The bottom is a 10" square Butter Cake with Chocolate Kahlua Filling and buttercream icing. The 'leaf' was butter cake as well, carved from an 8" round and iced with buttercream. The letters are fondant/gumpaste cutouts.

60Th B-Day Cake
I made this for my husband's birthday This is the first (and last) time I will use the fondant/gumpaste letter mould. I didn't like the look at all. The bottom layer of this cake is chocolate kahlua with a similar filling. The top is vanilla (for the kids). I had never worked with fondant before. Lots of fun. I also hadn't used this icing recipe before either and found that it crusted really fast, hence the Viva method didn't work all that well by time I started to do it. Lots of firsts - learned a lot!

My First Wedding Cake Attempt!
I used the 12", 9" and 6" petal pans (never again). I did one layer of each, (torted) in the WASC. The bottom layer had raspberry butter cream filling, the middle had Grand Marnier buttercream and the top, Kahlua. The buttercream icing didn't crust up very well, so it's not exactly the result I was hoping for. I also used a pearl lustre dust on the roses and on the apple blossoms along the bottom. Roses are BC, apple blossoms and drop flowers are RI. I sure hope they like it.
