Kimberly Birthday
My sister asked me to make her granddaughter a B D Cake. She likes Princess things, so I chose a Story Book theme, getting inspiration from Rose Bud Cakes of Beverly Hills. I so wished I would have put ribbon around the cakeboard instead of a thin piped line, the board absorbed the grease from icing. Like most of my cakes this was free, so I did not feel too bad about the board.

Charlies Birthday 09
My son requested a carrot cake, so I made some of his favorite things, Sub Sandwich, He plays on adult softball team...carved a somewhat looking baseball mitt, with a chocolate softball. His fav. beverage, Bud Light is a poured chocolate bottle and painted with luster dust..I need a new bottle mold, as this bottle was mis-shaped.

Easter Bunny And Chicks
The cake was a 12" cake cut in half, (made 2 of the same cakes) The bunnies and chicks were cookies piped with icing, I seen these character cookies at a local Giant Eagle and thought they were cute. I made soft pineapple/coconut cookies and piped a tremendous amount of icing to get the look. Hopefully, when they eat these cookies they will scrape off some of the icing.

Basketball Party
These were made for a little league BB team my son coaches. Like most of my stuff, free. I wanted a more dense cc, so these were vanilla almond pound cake with cherry vanilla filling piped into the cc. The basketball discs were colored white chocolate and took hours to make as I only had one cavity in the mold. The cc got mixed reviews, I thought cherry would be a popular flavor with kids...and pound cake, guess not. Adults liked them, but some kids did not. Oh, can't remember what CC member had the idea for a cc carrier but I used their idea, hot glued clear plastic cups to board and made it stable to transport.

Shellie Groom Cake
All was going pretty well until I put on the sugar ice and sugar bottles then the fondant ring around top of buttercream cake started sliding down, so it looks crushed on the front. Airbrush color ran, so was not happy with that either. However, the wedding party loved the cake, double chocolate, chocolate ganache filled and frosted then a layer of buttercream on top of ganache, which probably made it even more slippery with the fondant ring.

Linda's Birthday
My friend of 50 years, (we grew up together) loves apple decor. The apples would have turned out better if I would have used fondant, I used chocopan and it was way too soft. Apples were mini cc covered with chocopan, painted with luster dust and sprinkled with food glitter. She liked her cake, despite imperfections and sloppy basketweave, not to mention how awful the color the icing turned out. She loved the chocolate luster dusted leaves.

Tina's Wedding
Where do I begin----I turned down this order, but gave in to the MIL who likes the taste of my cake. It was 94 degrees outside, over 100 inside my kitchen. Everything was slippery. Couldn't center dowel, when I tried the third layer cracked. Bottom tier slid an inch on delivery. Fixed the best I could at site. Stress and sickly feeling not worth doing wedding cakes! Decompressed afterward, with a 3 hour nap, woke as if I had been on an all-nighter. I don't know how ya'll who do weddings take the stress.

Sugar Free
I get repeated orders from the same person for sugar free cakes. I use the Pillsbury Reduced Sugar cake mix, the mix has less carbs per serving than the scratch splenda cake recipe I use. I developed a reduced sugar icing recipe that these folks really like. The icing is light and fluffy (does not crust) and pipes well. I couldn't make 2 icing recipes for this cake as I ran out of Splenda so this cake is rather thin on icing on top.
