Disco Karaoke Cake- Lauren's 11Th Birthday
This cake was done for my daughter's 11th birthday "Karaoke Dance Party". The cake is "M&M Cake" with vanilla buttercream covered in fondant. The disco ball is made from rice krispy treats and then covered with fondant squares hand painted with silver luster dust. The "Singer" is made from Satin Ice Gum Paste. This is my first "human" figure done out of gumpaste. The records are fondant/gumpaste mix. Each record has a title of one of my 11 year old daughter's favorite songs.

Purple Panther Trophy
Caked done for my eight year old daughter's soccer team party. They were UNDEFEATED this season! Bottom cake is yellow with chocolate buttercream. "Trophy" part is kahlua heath bar cake with chocolate buttercream. Decorations are MMF/gumpaste mix. Unfortunately, I got a late start on this cake and the stars did not have enough time to completely dry before I assembled the cake.

Animal Friends Baby Shower
This cake was made for a 2nd grade teacher's "surprise" classroom baby shower. I was told I could do anything I wanted and that the expectant mom did not know if she was having a boy or a girl. So, this is what I came up with. The animals are made from MMF mixed with some gum tex powder. The animals and polka dots are painted with luster dust.

Mac's Birthday Monster
This cake was made for my friend's son's 5th birthday. The birthday boy specifically requested "a green monster with five horns, four eyes and two teeth, not sharp and not fangs...fangs tooooooooo SCARY!" This is what I eventually came up with after several "monstrous mishaps"!

Kelsey's 8Th Birthday
My daughter wanted a "pretty cake with PANDAS on it" for her 8th birthday... so this is what I came up with it. 8", 6" and 4" vanilla cake with strawberry filling covered in MMF. I had a little trouble with the bottom layer "buckling" and by the time of the party the cake was leaning a bit and looked more like a "whimsical cake" than a tiered one... but the kids loved it!

Pasta Eating Monkeys
This cake is for my daughter's 10th birthday. She's having a pasta making party at a local cooking school and has an inexplicable obsession with monkeys. Cake is white chocolate raspberry, "serving plate" is RKT covered in MMF, "spaghetti" is buttercream, "sauce" is thinned out raspberry jam and the "meatballs" are Ferrero Rocher candies. The monkeys are made from fondant. This is my first time making fondant figures.

Purple Panther Jersey
This cake was done for my 7 year old daughter's soccer team party. She wanted a cake that looked like her "Purple Panther" jersey. The cake is carved (my first!) from an 11x15 sheet, double layer vanilla caramel cake with caramel filling and covered in buttercream. I had a lot of trouble with getting the buttercream to hold the purple color. This is the first time I used the "new Crisco". I'm wondering if that was the problem.

Roger's "rock-Toberfest" 40Th Birthday
40th Birthday cake for my friend's husband. First cake I've done for something other than my kids' birthdays in a really looooong time! 12" and double layer 8" stacked, chocolate cake, chocolate buttercream, gumpast and fondant guitars, saxophones and letters. First time working with gumpaste.
