Wedding cake for a close friend's son. Top tier (8-inch) was banana with cream cheese filling; bottom tier (10-inch) was carrot with cream cheese filling. Covered with fondant brushed with gold dust + vodka. Adorned with inedible ribbon and real roses. I wanted it to be a more solid gold but it ended up sort of mottled looking. Still tasted great! Would have a larger size difference in the tier diameters if I did it again.
I made this for the birthday of a close friend. It's a Wellesley Chocolate fudge cake filled with ganache and covered with chocolate fondant. Ribbon and bow are not edible. Making the bow was the worst part - must practise!
Birthday cake for my best friend. She loved it! I need more practice on the cornelli lace, but not bad for a first try. Also first time with fondant roses. I was quite happy with this cake.
