Pig Farmer's Cake
Cake is chocolate cake w/reg. bc. Fence is popsicle sticks w/chocolate icing for the mud, pigs bought from hardware store along with the tractor. The cake actually says "Happy 28th Birthday Scott". I just couldn't remeber the date to finish it before I took the pic. I finished it up this morning, so it reads right, batteries died on my camera. Go figure.

80's? Theme Birthday Cake?
A friend ordered this for her friend's birthday party this weekend. They wanted an 80's theme cake and gave me this pattern. More of a hippie type theme, but they are happy with it. 2 layer french vanilla cake with reg. bc icing. I'm actually really disappointed, didn't turn out how I wanted. I ended up getting food poisioning the day I started working on this. Needless to say, I was up for a LONG time getting this done.

Carrot Cake And Cupcakes For Company Dinner
Carrot cake, used DH spice cake mix, added shredded carrots and walnuts. Iced with the Crusting Cream Cheese recipe found on this site. part of the border got squashed in transit. :( Cupcakes are vanilla cake with choc. buttercream. I used a full bar of German Choc., melted, added to regular buttercream recipe. Good stuff!!

Company Dinner Cake
2 - 12x18" cakes side by side. Right side is chocolate cake, left side is classic white cake. Whole cake is filled with raspberry buttercream. (Smucker's Simply Fruit Seedless Red Raspberry Spreadable Fruit mixed w/bc). YUMMY!!! Entire cake iced with bc. FBCT of the "General", company mascot. :) This cake was HUGE! LOL.

Hello K Itty Birthday Cake
Originally this cake was supposed to be COMPLETELY different than this. I ended up having to take my fiance to the hospital...so when I got home, that left me with an hour to decorate. Luckily I had made the FBCT of Hello Kitty, and the rest was kind of a rush. Marble cake with 1/2 butter 1/2 crisco buttercream. First FBCT I've done and I LOVED how easy it was!!!

Froggie Baby Shower Cake
Cake is classic white cake with 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco buttercream. Flowers out of gumpaste, sign, frogs, blanket, butterflies, dragonflies and large flower on top made of fondant and decorated with pastel chalks. I got the idea for the frogs off of another users frog prince (I don't rememer her name though). So thank you! I was just disappointed on how UN-smooth the buttercream is. My friend told me to stop messing with it, cause she said everything else totally draws away from the flaws. :)

17Th Birthday Cake
This is for a co-worker's grandaughter's 17th birthday. (say that 5 times fast). :) Cake is classic white cake with chocolate buttercream. Not sure if I made it right, but I melted a bar of german chocolate, added it to the butter/crisco/flavoring mixture, mixed well, then added ps. It turned out tasting great!! First time I've ever used the wire thingies...learning experience. Lettering in MMF w/ amethyst luster dust, stars in fondant w/sparkle dust, first reverse shell I've tried.

First Cookie Bouquet
First cookie bouquet ever. NFSC cookies, sugar glaze recipe off Allrecipes.com and colored with wilton color pastes. The extra green hangy offy stuff is cut off...I trimmed it after the photo. Wilton lollipop sticks, cookie sticks are in foam that has been hot glued to the flower pot. What an experience!

Lavender Present Cake
My first "official" cake order. Cake is spice cake with cream cheese flavored buttercream frosting, covered with MMF. The ribbon around the cake is also MMF. The bow and the curly cues are wilton fondant painted with super pearl dust. Round tip 12 for the border. My friend got this for her boyfriend's daughter's birthday. She absolutely LOVES it!!

Course 3 Final Cake
This is the cake I made for my final class for Wilton's Course 3. I decided to go a little different than the recommended cake. Cake is marble cake covered with buttercream then MMF. Royal icing petunias and butter cream decoration. The leaves are actually a bit lighter than the picture shows. The dowelling was a LOT easier than I thought it would be! I really enjoyed making this cake and how it turned out. This helped boost my confidence a lot!!

Course 3 Fondant Cake
Here's a picture of the first cake I made for my course 3 class. This is the first time I've ever used fondant and the first time I've ever made MMF....it was a heck of a learning experience. :) I'm very proud of how it turned out though. Devils Food Cake with buttercream icing and MMF covering it. The MMF was surprisingly easy to cover the cake with. I did have it a bit too dry though. I finally bought some Wilton fondant so I could see what the texture was supposed to be like. Now I know. :)

Course 2 Final Cake
This is my final cake for course 2. This was so much fun to do and the basketweave wasn't anywhere near as hard or time consuming as I thought it would be. I'm totally proud of how this turned out. I love the improvement I've made since my first class and I can't believe how easy it is!! Althought my fiance accidentally broke my fairies but hot glue worked some wonders! LOL.

Casey's Over The Hill Cake
One of my supervisors at work turned 40 this month. Everyone in my department pitched in $2 each for me to make this cake for him. (It works out well since there are 12 people in my dept.). He loved it. The cake is devils food cake, icing is buttercream including the little man falling into the grave. I made sure to practice piping him on a tupperware dish before actually piping on the cake. The drop flowers were made in advance so I could place them where needed. Candle says "Here lies my youth".

Class Final Cake
This was my final cake I made for my Course 1 class. I couldn't get the top of the cake smooth, so I decided to do a spiral. I just held the tip of the spatula against the top and slowly moved it inward as I spun my cake stand. It turned out really well actually. I still need some practice on the roses, but I was very proud of how this came out. Spice cake again with cream cheese flavored icing. The roses are made with standard class buttercream icing since it seems to hold up better for them.

Practice Cake
Another practice cake I made for work. We had just gone through how to make the roses in my classes so I wanted to practice. Cake is Duncan Hines spice cake, frosted with class buttercream icing. I changed up the flavorings a bit and it ended up having a cream cheese icing taste to it. Yum! These are my first attempt at roses to actually put on a cake. Quite a few people at worked loved this cake, so I now have requests for cakes, three this week actually. :)

Jack-O-Lantern Cake
I made this cake as a practice cake for work. It was the first cake I made since starting my Wilton Course decorating classes. Since the entire cake is decorated with stars my hand was almost dead at the end. :) Good practice though. Cake is red velvet cake, iced with class buttercream icing that I modified a bit. Used piping gel, tinted black for the detail and eyes. Work loved it!

Fish Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my daughter's 5th birthday. Another one of my before cakes. I baked 2, 9x13 cakes, I added food coloring to make the cake a teal color. Frosted with canned frosting. The fish and other items on the cake are made out of starbursts that I melted slightly then flattened and allowed to cool. Then I cut out the different shapes and just added bits and pieces together to make the stripes on some of the fish. She loved it and the cake tasted fantastic!

Princess Castle
I saw a cake like this in a picture on the internet. I recently started the Wilton Course Cake Decorating Classes. This is one of my before cakes. Cake is Pillsbury White cake, made 3, *" cakes. When I was icing it a corner came off of the tower, which is why it leans. Frosted with can frosting, used sugar cones for the corner towers, then just piped on the rest of the decorations. Flags are construction paper cut outs taped to tooth picks.
