I made this for fun... just wanted to see how it would look. My piping is a little shaky so that would have to look better next time, but the idea is right. blue fondant bottom with "clouds" as the border. White fondant top airbrushed to look rainbowed. I used the wilton color mist for that. the cake itself is rainbow too... white cake mix, divided into bowls and each is colored with food coloring. then just spoon different colors into the pans to have a splochy look...
We used the royal icing tiara instructions... the cake is ADORABLE... absolutely love it and the tiara was so easy and fun to make!!
my friend Julia and I made this cake for my boyfriend's birthday... he loves his videogames... especially Halo... we had a hard time with the top, I think our cake wasn't firm enough because we couldn't get the angles well, so we ended up cutting out "fondant tiles" and pasting them on to try to form angles... I think overall it looks good... we love the bottom half!!!
We made a Halo 3 Helmet cake for my boyfriend's birthday... he LOVED it. I wish I'd had more time to re-do the top of the helmet, but we did the best we could and think it turned out pretty well for a first 3-d cake attempt...
