Fundraiser Cake
I had not completed my first cake class when I voluteered to bake 4 cakes for a bake sale. I seem to run out of ideas the minute I start baking. But I did get a call from the person who bought this cake. She said it tasted great and asked how much I charged. ??? I've never even priced other people's cakes. It is yellow cake with bavarian cream filling and buttercream icing. Plain, but fun anyway.

Franks's Casing Crew
My oldest son needed a dessert for "Franks-giving" at Frank's Casing Crew in Lafayette, Louisiana. He gave me a patch off of his uniform and asked me to "put that on a cake". I hadn't finished my first cake class yet, and so I just did the best I could. It's two 12 inch layers, yellow cake, bavarian cream filling and buttercream icing. He said they ate it all and that they thought the design was cool---since it was his idea. :0)

Bake Sale Cake
When I volunteered to bake 4 cakes for a fundraiser, I didn't think about the fact that the cakes would have to be covered, and I didn't have any cardboard boxes to deliver them in. Thankfully, it's the holidays, and there are many different "disposable" pans with covers on the shelves. This is a one layer yellow cake with cream cheese icing. I styled the design from a cake I saw on this website. Hers was much nicer, but I'm new at this, and I was giving the cake away, afterall! It was fun. I didn't realize doing 4 cakes in one night was going to make me so TIRED! But, it was a good tired.
