Where The Wild Things Are
I actually started out trying to make that cute valentine's cake with the pink monster that says "wild thing" but that was a disaster. So I scraped off all the pink icing and tried to make this from the Childrens' book "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak (the birthday theme was "wild thing").

Sleepy Sheep Baby Shower
This was for a baby shower today. This is a design I've been working on and wanted to do ever since I started doing cakes! I love sheep. It finally materialized, and that was fun. A friend of mine, Cami, joined me to learn how to decorate, and she did the stars and moon and helped lay the MMfondant.

Butterfly Cake
This was a gift cake for two little girls - sisters whose birthdays were a few days apart. This design was a copy of their party plates and napkins, and they just love butterflies. It's iced in bc and the butterfly and flowers are fondant. The butterfly body is cake. I couldn't decide whether to refridgerate it, but it was SO hot that I had to with the bc - so that's why there's some condensation. But of course, the kids loved it anyway.

Scripture Cake
I just finished this one today for a children's class at church. Their challenge was to bring their scriptures with them every week to church, and this was their reward! The theme was to "feast upon the word of Christ." LOL! This was my first time making chocolate fondant and using gold lustre dust. The lettering was a little hard to get right, so I had to try a few different ways, but now I've got it!

Baseball Diamond
I just finished this cake today, for a baseball team party. I was so nervous delivering it, I was sure the baseball would roll off - even though I dowelled it like crazy. Whew! These were chocolate and yellow cakes, with cookies and cream filling. The baseball was iced in fondant, and the dirt was brown sugar.

Blue Hydrangea
This was for my Mother's wedding a few weeks ago. She wanted something simple and small, and her favorite color is this vibrant blue. The hydrangeas are her favorite, from her own garden, placed on waxed paper. The cake was white chocolate, with chocolate-hazelnut (nutella) filling. We had to transport this cake 4 1/2 hours away, and it got a little beat up in the process (the top layer is a little crooked, it wouldn't go straight), but still intact!
