Obviously this is not a "traditional" birthday cake. I needed something original for my Grandmother's 90th birthday!! It is iced in BC with all gumpase carnations, small flowers & morning glories. Enjoy!!

This was my entry for the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show for 2008. I earned a silver division certificate. Everything on the cake is edible, even the jinglebell which was made of gumpaste (after about 6 tries)!! Thanks for looking!!

This is a cake I did for a group from a church. They were celebrating ione of the women's work over the past several years. Their theme was that she had earned several jewels in her crown. The crown and all the jewels and scrolls were made from gumpaste then painted with luster to look like jewels and gold.
As you may or may not know this year our wedding cakes for the OK Sugar Art Show had to be inspired by Hollywood Glamour. So my cake was inspired by Irving Berlin's movie White Christmas. Everything on the cake is edible, even the poinsettias which are gumpaste. The snowflakes were made from a custom mold. I was fortunate enough to earn a bronze division. Thanks for looking!!!

Sorry the pic is blurry, it looked fine on my little camera screen!! That makes me so mad! Anyway, this cake is covered with fondant and has satin ribbon around each tier. The roses are real.
