Star Wars Cake
Star Wars cake for a little boy's birthday. I really wanted to do it black, but the mom didn't want black (can't say I blame her - but it sure would have looked good). Butter cake with BC icing. Death star is a styrofoam ball covered in fondant; star fighter planes also fondant/gumpaste, lego figures. Dusted with disco dust, but didn't look "starry" enough, so I piped on the BC stars.

Let's Luau!
I loved this cake! It was so fun! Another joint effort between me and my cousin-in-law. She did all the baking and icing making and I did the rest. Flamingo and surfboard were mini Christmas tree decorations; umbrellas are straws that I cut the top off of; and the rest were made from fondant.

Alien Spaceship
Cake done the following weekend for the same boy that got the fun cupcakes. This one was a little challenging. Thanks to frosting111 for inspiration and for answering my questions. Mine didn't come out as good as hers, but it was still a fun cake to make and the little boy loved it. All buttercream with fondant accents and cup lid.

Fun Fish Cake
This cake was based on the party invitation that the little boy picked out himself. I don't have cool software to put the two together, but oh well. The invitation looked like the top tier basically, it was blue with the polka dots and the little fish at the top. The mom and the little boy LOVED it so I was pleased.

Spidey/black Venom
This was for a party with a Spiderman and Black Venom theme. Although I talked her into Spidey's alter ego (yes, it's different) because Black Venom was pretty darn scary looking and her child is only four. :) Thanks to KHalstead for helping me figure out the whole Black Venom thing and for inspiration. And thanks to whoever did that great tutorial on making a spiderman bust!
