Fantasia Birthday Cake
My son turned 5 and decided he wanted to have a Disney Fantasia Themed birthday party. He was adamant that all of the songs in Fantasia had to be represented so this is what I came up with. The cake is white cake that is 4 layers tall frosted in buttercream. Each panel was colored using the colored spray food colorings. The film strip borders were done in black fondant. The images on each panel were done in colorflow & then the whole cake was on a lazy susan so that all sides could be viewed. The sorcerer's hat on top was sculpted out of cereal treats & then iced in blue buttercream. The decorations (moon, stars, & ears) were gumpaste & fondant. The tricky part was the broomstick. My husband cut a 1" dowel and screwed it on to two wooden circles. I covered the circles in blue marbled fondant and then covered the dowel in brown fondant. The rest of the broomstick was done with sculpted cereal treats, fondant, & then piping gel for the water. It was a lot of work but turn out better than I expected!!!

Slumber Party Cake
I did this a couple of years ago- a friend's daughter was having her very first slumber party. The girls are fondant as are the headboard, the blanket and the bed skirt. It was a lot of fun to make and I think was my favorite reaction of any cake I have ever made... my friend cried!!!

Mr. Potato Head
This was a fun little cake I put together for an auction at my son's school. I had always wanted to try a Mr. Potato Head cake so it was a perfect excuse to do so! It is a chocolate cake with buttercream icing. I used the sports ball pan for the bottom of him and the mini ball pan for the top & his hat. I then carved the cake to be the right shape. The feet are rice krispy treats and the ears are cookies covered in icing.

Imagination Mover Birthday Cake 2
When I was working on the tiered version of my other Imagination Mover cake, I made some extra colorflow Movers of different sizes in case I had any breakage. For my son's actual birthday, I used the pieces & made a 9 inch round cake for the family to enjoy. It was white cake with vanilla filling and buttercream icing.

Longhorn Cowfish
This is probably the weirdest cake I have ever made. My neighbor asked if I could create a cake like this for his wife since she was completing a research paper for this particular fish for her master's degree. It is a white cake that I carved to look like the fish. The horns, lips, tail, & fin were created by using foil to sculpt a mold and then I poured white chocolate into the mold. Once the chocolate was set, I peeled off the foil and then inserted the pieces into the cake. I used buttercream to frost the fish and then food coloring spray cans to make the different colors. It was a lot of fun- I included a picture of the real fish to show what they really look like.

Imagination Movers Cake
This is my first picture post so hopefully I am doing this right. My son is a HUGE fan of the Imagination Movers so I knew I had to do something fun. It was a white cake frosted in buttercream. The gears are fondant. The 4 guys and warehouse mouse are out of colorflow. It took a lot of time but my son's reaction made the whole thing worth it!!!
