A cake I made very quickly for a surprise get together after my brother and his fiance eloped. I think the idea was great but the execution was not so good! I tried to do a frozen buttercream transfer because I was so short on time, but the result showed the hurry!

I promised my friend I would make a cake for her grad. party. All of our friends knew I wasnt feeling well the day of the party, so as a joke, I sent my son next door with this cake and my apologies. About an hour later, I showed up at the party with her "real" cake, which is the red, white, and black cake in my photos. It was hilarious!
This cake is not my design. I found several like this on CC! Its mostly buttercream, except for the road, hills and rocks. It was my first time using fondant, and I definitely need some practice. Not really happy with the checkered result either. I think I may have overestimated my newbie ability on this one! LOL
My very first attempt at decorating cookies. I used the NFSC recipe and Alice's cookie icing. I loved the taste of both recipes. I have never been a fan of sugar cookies because they usually end up tasting like flour, but using the parchment paper technique to roll them out worked wonders!
I made this for my MIL. She loves cake, and told me all she wanted was a butter cake with bavarian creme for her birthday. Again, I got the idea for the cake from CC.
