This isn't actually a retirement cake, but a 'thank you" cake. I start a new job soon and the staff where I worked were very kind on my last day of employment. I felt their generosity deserved more than a "Hallmark" card . One thing they all commented on was 'no more Carol cakes" so I gave them one last Carol cake in the form of a thank you. The bear was really cute, this is just a bad angle on the cake.
A friend of my son's started their own non-denominational church. In the beginning, they held services in a high school auditorium. They finally bought a building and renovated it into a church. The picture is their logo.
Another Wedding Sunday at our Parish. This cake featured different batters and fillings and had shaved Ghiradelli White Chocolate on top of all the teirs. It featured lavender roses.
A wedding cake I did for my Parish for Wedding Sunday. Married couples renew their vows during mass and a coffee is held afterwards and I always donate a wedding cake for the occassion. I placed ivory wild roses around the sides, icing lace on top with pink and ivory two toned roses.
I was asked by the Kestone Oaks teachers to create a cake for a number of teachers who were retiring and they wanted the eagle drawn on with roses in the school colors.
I love drawing pictures on cakes. I think it gives them a more complete look. My nephew's wife was having a baby sea creature theme for her baby and wanted a cake to reflect the theme.
This was a Communion gift for the daughter of a friend of mine. Same as the graduation bear, the angel is hand drawn and filled in with colored melted buttercream.
The bear was drawn free-hand and my homemade buttercream icing was colored, melted down and piped into the photo.
