"lilly"
My first carved animal. Lilly is a lemon chocolate with chocolate, hazlenuts and buttercream filling. She is covered in all modeling chocolate with a rice crispy head, which did not want to stay on. Swore I would never do another, who knows, like child birth after a while the pain goes away! A big difference from the first cake I baked for my father 2yrs ago to now. A big thanks to CC>

Us Army Dragster "the Sarge"
My intention was for a smaller cake, well, it ended up being roughly 30". The car is made from a loaf pan and is a creme bulee butter cake covered in black satin ice fondant (very easy to work with). The fins are fondant and RI. The tires are RKT covered in Wilton's fondant and the accents are fondant. The stands are a white cake with dum dum's for people. The Christmas tree DH made for me and is covered in chocolate clay (first time using, LOVE IT!) with melted Jolly Ranchers set in fondant. Hubby bought 7 bags of the candy looking for the yellow ones:) I stressed for a long time over this cake, but so far I feel pretty good about the way it turned out. This was not my original plan, but because it was sooooo big I had to change things up. The little boy was speechless when I dropped it off. That's a good thing I think?

Macbeth
Thank you to the photo inspiration here on CC for this one, it is my latest. The book was carved out of a 12x18 double of red velvet with strawberry bc filling and frosting with mmf for the top layer. Icky bugs are store bought gummies. The candle is red chocolate melted with a blow torch for the burned effect and a real wick in the center. The skull is a real candle and the wording is from MacBeth Act 4 scene 1 written in black coloring thinned with vodka. I think this one is my favorite so far!

Gluten Free Mcqeen
This was for a little boy with autism who couldn't have gluten. I have never tasted anything gluten free and thought I did something wrong. I was actually thinking of calling the lady and saying the cake didn't taste that good, that it tasted like beans. Well when she picked it up, I explained and she started laughing and said that is what it should taste like. Boy was I relieved! Anyway, the little boy liked the cake. My first for a paying customer.

The Cottage
This is my first attempt at a 3D. It is of the family cottage at the lake and made for my mothers B-day. It is made out of butter cake with vanilla bc filling and icing. The windows are melted white chocolate. Sorry the pic is bad, I forgot to photo it and used the cell on the way there. My mother was very suprised to see her family home. She was expecting a light house.

Halloween Fondant
This is my first (second) cake after finding this site. Thank you to the person who I took your idea from. Hope I did it justice. My first time making fondant. Can't say I enjoyed coloring it black. Melted chocolate sides with food coloring art. They are butter cakes I found from the recipes with a chocolate mousse filling. I used a whole bag of melted caramels on top of the first layer. The people who won it said it was a little hard to cut into :)

173Rd Paratrooper - Vietnam Vet
This was the cake that launched me into my new cake hobby. It was made for my father who was a paratrooper in the Vietnam War. He's not an emotional guy, but I got a wipe at the eyes from him! I downloaded the emblem from the net and traced it onto fondant. It took me 2 days to do this. It's chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.
