Diego Tree House
The cake is covered in buttercream with color flow animals and fondant leaves for the top. Branches are coated in royal icing and attached to the tall teir stand using candy melts. The river is made from piping gel. Outside of the fondant leaves, I tried to do an easy cake that Wilton students who have completed course one and two would be able to do.

Ariel In Her Cavern
Happy 4th birthday Carolyn! So you get to see her cake even before my own daughter. This is a 14" buttercream cake with chocolate rocks, a rice krispie cave airbrushed black, bobbles and sea things out of gumpaste and hand painted with vodka and coloring gel, flowers made out of gumpaste and a yummy chocolate cake inside. The coral is made with BC and tip 16 and tip 12 and I took a bone tool dipped it in cornstarch/powdered sugar and did the dimples on the tube coral atter it dried. I think my favorite creature is Sebastian the crab but of course, my daughter will love Ariel. The sea weed is just Royal icing on tall lollipop sticks.

Ri Ornaments
So I'm sure like many, I'm a big fan of Food Network's Cake Challenges and I saw Elisa Strauss do these ornaments on a Christmas cake and thought, sure let's try it. After several attempts, I learned to dust the balloons with confectioner's sugar first, then pipe RI and let dry. When dry, slowly deflat the balloon as it releases slowly from the RI. I quickly airbrushed them and put them on a cake as a topper just to use them.

Reese's Cake
This 5 teired cake was all butter rum with the layers alternating from a reese pieces filled chocolate iced layer to the strawberry layer. The bottom layer was 8 10" square cakes-giving it a 20" square bottom to put the cake into perspective. The burnt orange calla lillies and cabernet roses were all gumpaste. The entire cake was covered with sugar crystals (which were a pain to do but totally completed the look,
